I met Gary in the late 80's.  We were adversaries in a matter that the J.P. Legal Services was handling.  He was a fine and strong advocate and we ultimately came to a settlement.   Since that time I had occasion to run into 
him on several times.  He was always a gentleman and very friendly.   We shared  similar tastes for restaurants as I ran into him at several different places.   I also shared the same primary care physician.

I was originally saddened when he told me about his transplant and further by his death.

He earned my respect as and advocate and a person.   

I could tell he was special.
