From the Yale College 40th Reunion Booklet

The years roll on with an inexoribility I'm sure I would have
philosophized about forty years ago, but can only now understand.
Nevertheless, they have treated me well and I have little to regret 
or complain about.  I have a wonderful family and I feel loving and
loved -- a gift beyond measure and surely beyond what I or anyone else 
can claim as deserved.

In work, I have taught many (if not much), written and spoken
about things I care about, and spent most of my time trying to make
changes in legal education and the legal profession which would make
it more responsive to the unmet legal needs of large segments of the
populations.  I can't say that I've come anywhere close to succeeding.  But
I've been part of some useful innovations and helped a lot of poor clients
along the way.  Besides, I'm still at it and still love it.  What better message
to send to my old classmates?
